Kate Carlisle is a Sydney-based contemporary artist and designer who explores graphic-based figurative forms with themes of rebirth and release.

Kate has worked imaginatively with sculptural materials such as ceramics, resin, and paint to explore these themes throughout her works. Her multidisciplinary use of these materials in both 2D and 3D artworks has created an array of explorations within her style as an emerging artist.

Kate studied ceramics and completed her honours at the UNSW College of Art and Design in Sydney. After graduating, she worked for several years as a graphic designer in London while continuing to develop her ceramic work on the side. Since returning to Australia, she has pursued her love of ceramics by becoming a pottery teacher. She also continues her work as a freelance artist, designer, and illustrator, commercially.

Kate lives with her son and partner with their blue cattle dog, Bobbie, on Sydney's Northern Beaches in Australia.
