Kate Paea makes work about memory, place, and all the complicated ways we carry both.

Her practice explores the quiet moments in colour—where the past meets the present, where distance becomes texture, and where home is something both remembered and reimagined. Known for her emotive use of colour and tactile surfaces, Kate’s pieces are immersive, reflective spaces shaped by light, texture, and lived experience.

Weaving personal narrative with the broader landscape of Australian coastal life, her work spans painting, mixed media, and installation—often navigating the space between belonging and distance, between what is remembered and what is imagined. These ideas take shape in layered, expressive works, primarily in acrylic on wood, realised as abstracted landscapes and morphed still lifes.

Works will be sold on a first come basis. If you’d like to secure a work, please let me know as soon as possible via email katepaeastudio@gmail.com
